When Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, he thought he was ending injustice. Unfortunately, African Americans continued being treated unfairly with many types of segregation. With the help of Martin Luther king, Jr. and other important people, our country started working to stop segregation, but it was not easy. Martin Luther King, Jr. wanted to stop segregation in a non-violent way which took lots of patience, courage, and perseverance. His talent of being a very persuasive speaker helped him to end cruelty against human race.
